RCPF supported the St. Paul Public Schools Trap Team - the Claybusters!

The team celebrated the end of the season with the traditional "Fun Shoot" with parents, coaches and members of the St. Paul Police Department.

Many had never experienced clay shooting before, and enjoyed the time on the range and pizza afterwards.

We also celebrated three Trap Team members that lettered this year!

Minnesota's Next Pheasant Hunters

Minnesota's Next Pheasant Hunters

Welcome to the next generation of conservation and pheasant hunting enthusiasts. In efforts to help our younger generation play a larger role in our efforts to conserve and provide habitat for upland game, our chapter provides today's youth with opportunities to learn about what Pheasants Forever is truly about. Minnesota provides conservation educational materials, safety of firearms and mentor youth hunts for those kids who may not have the same opportunities as most. Take a moment and read about our youth events or find out how you can become a key component of helping future Pheasants Forever Members.

Ramsey Ringnecks -Trap Shooting Team

Ramsey County Pheasants Forever is excited to sponsor a youth shooting team - the Ramsey Ringnecks!  This is a non-competitive four (4) week program to teach participants proper technique for shooting trap.  This program is designed for participants with minimal to no shooting experience but they must possess a MN Firearms Safety Certificate prior to starting the program.  (2 coaches are DNR Firearms Safety Instructors so please reach out to us for help meeting this requirement).  The goal of this program is to give participants the basic skill set to join a competitive high school program - or for those that have started with a high school program - to improve skills in a non-competitive program to gain confidence for your school program.  Our program will begin the end of July and conclude in time for you to take your new skills to a high school shooting team - - and the field!

All participants in this program are invited and encouraged to join our Learn to Hunt event in September.

We are proud that several schools in Ramsey County have started teams in the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League.

If you are a youth, age 12 to 17, an adult or a family who has not experienced the rush of the flush as a pheasant explodes from cover, we want you! The Minnesota Department of Resources (MN DNR) and Pheasants Forever (PF) have teamed up to provide a very special mentored upland hunt in Minnesota.  Ramsey County Pheasants Forever is planning our next event for September 2018.

SPACE FOR THIS HUNT IS LIMITED. If you apply, and are drawn to participate, you need to commit to the hunt and follow through.

All participants will be required to have a signed waiver on file prior to the event.  Firearms Safety Certificate is required for all participants: if you will be, or currently are, attending a firearms safety class, you must have completed and passed prior to the day of the hunt.

Please contact a Chapter Officer if you would like to participate in this year's hunt!

Ramsey County Pheasants Forever is proud to announce that it's MN Pollinator Partnership grant application was approved by the grant committee at Pheasants Forever!

RCPF is developing a 2 acre parcel in partnership with Ramsey County and thanks to funding provided through the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund.  This project will provide habitat for pollinators, critical brood rearing habitat for pheasants and other wildlife - and serve as an outdoor classroom for the students involved with seeding the site and monitoring it's development.

This project will engage Ramsey County youth with a hands on experience in conservation

The following video is an example of the program that our Chapter is developing to educate our area youth and help address a serious issue with pollinators in our County.
